We arrived in Canada from South Africa renting Ann McCracken’s old home across the street from John and Evelyn. We had no idea what was waiting for us! Both John and Evelyn warmly welcomed us and guided us through our culture shock. So many treasured moments, visits, fresh vegetables and warm pies. When we expected our twins, there was always a caring hug or glance. We’ve tried to follow your example with other immigrants through the years and will always look back with warm hearts to our time together. Thank you dear John with your blue eyes and bright smile. Our condolences to dear Evelyn and everyone left behind. Love and long hugs - Posted by: Jaco and Madine Scheeres (Pine Falls friends 1996-1997) on: May 30, 2026
